The District is opening — rowhouse country: Capitol Hill, Petworth, Brookland, Shaw, and everything between. The customer machine that books the Virginia network already takes DC calls; the DC bench is what we're building now. To be plain about it: there's no active Loadside job volume in the District yet. The list is open so the first job posted goes to an electrician who's already vetted, licensed, and ready.

Permits & local context

The District reorganized permitting in 2022 when DCRA split in two: the Department of Buildings (DOB) now issues construction and trade permits — electrical included — while the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) handles the occupational side. Electrician licenses (apprentice, journeyman, master) run through the DC Board of Industrial Trades under DLCP. If your license is Virginia- or Maryland-only, the board is where getting DC-legal starts — sort it while the bench is still forming.

Same honesty as our Maryland page: no DC jobs listed today. What's real right now is the demand engine running in NoVA, a District waitlist, and a commitment that DC scopes get written with old-rowhouse reality in mind — including the walk-away rule when a 1910 wall opens on something the scope didn't see.

Is Loadside active in Washington, DC yet?
Not yet. Today's active, pre-sold job volume is in Northern Virginia; the District is opening, not open. The list exists so the first DC job goes to somebody already vetted — apply now and that's you.
How do I get electrical subcontract work in Washington, DC?
